The African Transitional Justice Network is part of the African Transitional Justice Hub, an initiative of the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation. The Network is a unique platform designed to facilitate the development of new knowledge on African transitional justice, enable stakeholder engagement and continental outreach, and ensure marginalised voices are amplified in research outputs, policy forums, consultation processes and assessments of lessons.

The Network was developed as part of the Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa, a project jointly launched by the African Union and the European Union, implemented by a consortium consisting of the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, the International Center for Transitional Justice, and the Africa Transitional Justice Legacy Fund.

With €5 million in European Union funding, the Initiative for Transitional Justice in Africa supports African Union member states in turning the African Union Transitional Justice Policy into action.
