Joël Kabuya Kumuamba
International Legal Researcher | Strategic Affairs Consultant
I am an international legal researcher and strategist specializing in resource governance, transitional justice, and regional stability across Africa. With a professional foundation built on bridging the gap between high-level policy and community-led impact, I focus on how international law can secure sovereignty and ensure corporate accountability in the Great Lakes region.
Having completed my Bachelor of Commerce in Law at Boston City Campus and a Higher Certificate in Paralegal Practice, I have transitioned into specialized research roles that address the complexities of justice in post-conflict settings. Most recently, I collaborated with the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation (CSVR) and Impunity Watch, where I contributed to developing youth-sensitive reparations frameworks and research briefs focused on the Democratic Republic of Congo. My fieldwork and research expertise span a diverse regional portfolio, including DRC, Burundi, Gabon, and Mali.
